FAQs

What types of liquids can be sprayed using the Versatile 1.2m Boom?

The Versatile 1.2 m Boom is built for use with a wide range of agricultural liquids, including herbicides, pesticides, and liquid fertilisers. Designed tough for Australian conditions, its chemical-resistant components ensure long-lasting performance. To confirm compatibility with specific liquids, contact TTi for a Liquid Compatibility Chart before use.

Can the boom be adjusted for different spraying widths?

The boom delivers a consistent 4 m spray swath and is not adjustable for width. However, the integrated on/off ball valve controls allow you to isolate individual nozzles, providing greater control when treating smaller or irregular areas.

What maintenance is required for the boom and its nozzles?

After each use, flush the system thoroughly with clean water to remove chemical residues. Regularly inspect and clean the nozzles to prevent blockages, and check all fittings, seals, and hoses for leaks or wear. Store the boom in a clean, dry location away from direct sunlight to protect against UV damage and corrosion.

Is the boom compatible with all UTVs and utes?

The Versatile 1.2 m Boom is compatible with vehicles equipped with a Hayman Reese-style mount or equivalent hitch system. Always verify that your vehicle’s mounting setup can safely support the boom to ensure a stable and secure installation during operation.

What is the recommended pressure for optimal spraying performance?

For consistent results, ensure your sprayer’s pump delivers a minimum flow rate of 6.5 L/min. Refer to the nozzle pressure guide and flow chart to achieve your desired application rate and droplet size for precise, even coverage.

Can I use the boom for spraying in windy conditions?

It’s best to avoid spraying in windy conditions, as wind drift can reduce accuracy and lead to uneven application. Schedule spraying during calm periods for the most effective coverage and to minimise off-target spray.
