The Transfer40 pump is a 12v diesel pump designed exclusively for standard diesel fuel. Do not use it with petrol, biodiesel blends, or other liquids, as this can cause damage to the pump components and void warranty coverage. Always ensure that the diesel used is clean and free from contaminants.
Routine checks help keep your 12v diesel pump working the way it should. Take a moment to look for leaks, cracks, or signs of wear. Keep the suction filter clean and make sure the electrical connections are tight and free from corrosion. When the pump is not in use, store it somewhere clean and dry to protect it from moisture.
The Transfer40 12v diesel pump can be connected to various tanks, provided the tank material is diesel-compatible. Using it with tanks not rated for diesel may cause leaks, degradation, or safety hazards. Always verify the tank’s specifications before installation to ensure proper chemical compatibility and performance.
Under normal conditions, the Transfer40 12v diesel pump can draw diesel from a vertical suction height of up to about 3 metres. For the best results, place the pump as close to the fuel source as possible and keep the suction hose as short as you can.
Always operate the 12v diesel pump in a well-ventilated area away from open flames, sparks, or other ignition sources. Ground the pump to prevent static electricity build-up, and wear suitable protective equipment, including gloves and eye protection, when handling diesel to reduce the risk of spills or splashes.
To get the longest service life from your 12v diesel pump, it’s best to run it for around 30 minutes at a time, then allow a short cooling period. Continuous operation for long periods can lead to overheating and reduce the life of the motor.
