Having recently won a number of large civil contracts, ACE needed to source more equipment, including excavators, graders, skid steers and water carts that could withstand the demands of tough jobs, day in and day out. These jobs include road works, civil construction, car-parks, earth-moving and landscaping. So why did ACE chose  TTi for all their water cartage needs?…..

 

Why TTI?

ACE choose to use TTi’s AquaPath skid mounted water carts and FirePatrol trailers because of their reliability, versatility and user friendliness, meaning any member of the team can safely and effectively use the units. Unique features such as the remote control, means the spray heads can be operated from the comfort of the truck cabin for soil conditioning and crushed rock compaction. The Australian Made units are backed up with a 20-year tank warranty, which gave ACE the peace of mind when making their buying decision.

Having access to hydrants around Melbourne, this allows ACE to quickly fill the unit through the 2″ hydrant fill system – hooking up with the ease of the camlock fittings and layflat hose. In areas where hydrant access is not available, the 6 metre bottom fill kit is used to suck out of an external water source, such a channel or dam.

The units have an option of petrol or diesel driven motors, with the hose reel and the deflectors on the sides and rear of the unit. The handheld remote control operates the spray heads at the rear, which is a ‘pretty cool feature’, according to the ACE Operators. The hose reel can be used for general wash-down, backed up with plenty of power from the Davey Twin Impeller pump.

ACE contractors have a fleet of small tip trucks, which is why they use number of skid mounted units, as well as trailer units. Micheal Hanly, a site foreman, says the the ‘skid is easy to take off and use the truck for something else if we are not using the AquaPath. We have 5 or 6 of these units across the company, on all our projects, and they are very, very versatile, easy to fill up, and just make easy on site to work with.”
